Silence is a political self-portrait series aiming to highlight how dictatorship suppresses freedom of speech of the masses in the name of law and order. To silence any voice that may rock their leadership, anyone who dares disseminate or actively seek a different voice would be seen as a threat of the totalitarian regime and be reprimanded, sometimes arrested and charged, and in the worst case, disappeared. The series represented three individuals who were convicted of three different crimes. Laws are frequently abused by dictatorships to justify the arrests and punishments of dissidents.
